1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using Palatr (the “Service”) you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be 18 or older, or use Palatr under the supervision and consent of a parent or legal guardian as required by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP). You confirm the information you provide is accurate.
3. Your account
One account per person. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your password confidential. Notify us of any unauthorised use. We may suspend accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Your content
You own what you post: reviews, meal logs, photos, lists. You grant Palatr a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, display, adapt for formatting, and distribute that content within the Service, including on public list and profile pages you choose to share. Deleting content or your account ends this licence except for copies already shared by you or cached briefly in backups.
5. Review integrity
Reviews must reflect your first-hand experience. Paid, incentivised, self-promotional or fabricated reviews are prohibited, consistent with Indian consumer-protection guidance on fake reviews. Home-state reviews are weighted more heavily in authenticity scores, and this weighting is disclosed in the app. We may remove content and restrict accounts that game scores.
6. Lists & sharing
Lists you mark shareable are public at your list link and may be viewed without an account. Do not include private information about other people in list notes or photos.
7. Prohibited conduct
No scraping or bulk-extracting Service data; no harassment, hate or threats; no impersonation; no uploading unlawful or infringing content; no attempts to probe, disrupt or reverse-engineer the Service; no automated account creation.
8. Palatr Gold
Gold costs ₹49 per month or ₹129 per quarter, billed in advance through Razorpay and renewing automatically until cancelled. Cancel anytime in Profile; access continues until the end of the paid period. Except where law requires, fees are non-refundable, other than verified duplicate or erroneous charges. Price changes take effect from your next billing cycle with at least 30 days notice.
9. Our property
The Palatr name, design, scores, curation and software are our intellectual property. Restaurant names and marks belong to their owners; listing them does not imply endorsement.
10. Logos & images
Restaurant names, logos, trademarks and any brand imagery shown on Palatr are the property of their respective owners and are used only to identify the establishment, not to imply any affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement. A venue's logo is drawn from its own public website. Where we do not yet hold a verified photograph of a place, we may show a representative image of that cuisine, clearly labelled as representative; it is illustrative only and is not a photograph of that establishment. Directory details also include information from OpenStreetMap © OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed under the ODbL. If you own a mark and want its use changed or removed, write to hello@palatr.in and we will act promptly.
11. Third parties
Maps, directions and payments are provided by third parties under their own terms. Restaurant details (hours, prices, availability) change; verify before travelling. The Service is provided “as is” without warranties.
12. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Palatr is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for experiences at listed establishments. Our total liability is capped at the fees you paid us in the 3 months before the claim, or ₹500 if you paid none.
13. Termination
You may delete your account anytime in Profile. We may suspend or terminate accounts for breach, with notice where practicable. Sections 4, 9, 11 and 14 survive termination.
14. Privacy (DPDP)
We collect: account details (email, name, username, home state, city), the content you create, device and usage data, and approximate location only when you allow it. We use it to: run and improve the Service, personalise your feed, process payments and communicate with you. We never sell your personal data and never display your home state publicly. Processors: hosting, payment (Razorpay), email delivery, and analytics only if you consented. Retention: until you delete your account; backups clear within 30 days. Your rights: access, correction, deletion, and withdrawal of consent. Write to grievance@palatr.in; our grievance officer responds within statutory timelines.
15. Cookies
Essential cookies keep you signed in. Optional analytics cookies run only after you choose “Accept all” and can be withdrawn in settings.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction.
17. Changes & contact
We may update these Terms; material changes will be notified in-app. Continued use means acceptance. Contact: hello@palatr.in.
